Static QR codes do not expire
A static QR code contains the website address, text, contact information or other destination directly in its pattern. It does not depend on an AblePro account or redirect service. Once downloaded, the code keeps the same information permanently.
Why some QR codes stop working
Many commercial services create dynamic QR codes. The printed code points first to the provider's redirect address, which then sends the visitor to the destination you selected. If the subscription ends or the provider disables the redirect, that code may stop working.
What can still make a static code fail?
The QR pattern itself remains valid, but a website can be moved, a phone number can be disconnected, Wi-Fi credentials can change or a printed code can become damaged. Test important codes periodically and replace them when the underlying information changes.
